Latest firmware for the PowerShot G7 X Mark III

Following useful feedback from our engaged customers already using the PowerShot G7 X Mark III for recording their video content for social media, a new mode for video blog recording is now available via a firmware update.

Video Blog Recording mode is a fully automatic video setting for recording your piece to camera. Hold your G7 X Mark III at arm’s length and it will respond naturally and smoothly to your movements, to tell your story clearly and with just the right emphasis on you and your surroundings.

Face AF in this mode locks on to your face quickly and precisely, and when the viewpoint changes to a new subject in the shot, auto focus adjusts quickly and responsively. Exposure adjustments are also fast, smooth, and natural. Travel vloggers will find this particularly useful when speaking to camera, then framing the surrounding landscape. Sharpness and exposure of your face and surroundings adjust quickly to retain sharpness and natural vibrant colours.

A useful feature usually found in professional video cameras, zebra display is a graphic overlay to show exposure variations. Typically, this is used to warn of potential overexposure in a scene, so you can make adjustments to maintain great quality footage.

To help framing your videos for the various social media platforms, switch on the video aspect marker and you’ll see a number of frames that correspond to 16:9, 5:4, or even 2.39:1.

It is now possible to show the electronic level display on screen whilst shooting with Fae Tracking switched on, to enhance the information available when shooting.
